Cádiz sits on a narrow spit of land with the ocean on three sides. Its old town is a grid of watchtowers and narrow streets, and La Caleta beach is right in the middle of it.
Gaditanos are known for their humour, best seen at February’s carnival, when choirs and comedy groups (chirigotas) sing satirical songs in the streets.
Climate: Atlantic and very mild: warm winters for Europe and summers cooled by the sea and the levante wind.
