What happens
Floats, bands and costumed pages fill the streets from late afternoon. The kings throw sweets (bring a bag, or an umbrella turned upside down, as locals do). On 6 January families eat roscón de Reyes, a ring-shaped cake with a small figure and a dried bean hidden inside: whoever finds the bean pays for next year’s cake.

Dates for 2027 are based on the fixed date or the usual rule. Confirm with the organisers or town hall before booking.
Tips
- Madrid’s parade along the Paseo de la Castellana and Alcoy’s (one of the oldest, from 1885) are among the biggest.
- 6 January is a national holiday: many shops close.
